Who are Movemnt?

Movemnt is an open network connecting consumers and property professionals with data, digital services, and each other for faster, more efficient, and less risky home moves.

Movemnt (part of the Houseful family of brands which includes Alto and Zoopla), is the connecting tissue that powers Alto’s conveyancing feature, among other experiences.

In that regard, Movemnt capabilities have been made available to our customers and partners on various platforms, including Alto, for some time.

So why the new name?

Well, as we expand our network, we recognise the need for a unifying brand that better reflects the nature of Movemnt as a transaction network that includes, but is not limited to, a conveyancing feature.

Will Movemnt be going direct to consumers and if so due to the lower referral fee will it be cheaper?

As part of our open network, we operate a direct-to-consumer offering, which you can see at Zoopla Move.

This channel is designed for consumers already looking to do their own research and selection, and typically serves different decision-making journeys compared to consumers that go through estate agents.

More importantly, we recognise the strategic and complimentary value of this channel for Alto and the wider network, as it allows us to maximise our reach.

The more transactions we’re plugged into, the more ‘movemnts’ are captured by the network, and the richer the insights we can deliver to estate agents.

As a result, we’re able to give you better and faster visibility of progress and risks associated with the transactions you manage.

Referral fees are not unique to the conveyancing panel on Alto, and therefore it’s not true that quotes will be inflated via Alto compared to other channels. Lead acquisition costs are standard practice for conveyancers across channels, including on our consumer sites.

Are we adding mortgage brokers to the Movemnt feature?

Movemnt has already integrated with 15 (and counting) brokers. In the first place, they are now available and receiving introductions on Yourkeys, our CRM solution for housebuilders.

The plan is to expand this feature for estate agents, so that they can recommend brokers to their customers through Alto and other CRM platforms.

This is still in the works for the time being, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we launch.

What’s the difference between the offering in Alto, Yourkeys and direct-to-consumer, and why do they differ?

We’ve designed Movemnt to be an open network with entry points into different platforms.

This allows us to be the ‘connective tissue’ in the industry, supercharging communication and data exchange between all parties involved, to ultimately deliver faster, better, safer transactions.

Movemnt shows up as different experiences (albeit at the same standards of quality, which we monitor and manage rigorously) for different users, depending on their needs, role within the transaction, and technology platform(s) they operate from.

For estate agents on Alto, Movemnt powers the conveyancing feature, allowing agents to recommend conveyancers from quality-controlled panel, receive automated sale progression milestones, get support from a dedicated panel manager, all while earning up to £800 in additional revenue per transaction.

Why is the rate card in Movemnt different from what the agents quote direct?

It’s normal practice for conveyancers to implement different rate cards for different partners, and/ or on different distribution channels.

This depends on a number of factors, including their own sales strategy and capability, the level of competition, lead volume and quality, as well as how effective they find working with each channel.

However, it’s worth noting that transactions that go directly to conveyancers and not integrated with Movemnt will unfortunately miss out on the various benefits we believe are critical to your and your customers’ experience.

These include faster searches, integrated milestones, dedicated support, managed payments, and strict conveyancer service level agreements.
